Youth
Manners are more than just saying "please" and "thank you." In fact, they are ways of showing kindness and consideration. Whether we like it or not, people will judge our children on how they handle themselves. It's much easier to teach good manners while our children are young than it is to break bad habits when they are older.
The philosophy of The Refined School of Protocol and Etiquette® is to blend the traditional rules of etiquette with contemporary manners. Training topics covered fall into the following categories:
Dining Skills - In today's society, through no fault of their own, many children do not experience a formal dining experience or even a daily family dinner around the table. We are all busy with sports, lessons, scouting, and other obligations. I would bet that your child could eat 5 meals in a row without ever picking up a fork ! Understanding appropriate dining etiquette is a valuable lesson that your children will use for life.
Communication Skills - The advancements in technology ensure that we are plugged in 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. The requirement for personal interaction has diminished and unfortunately so have the communication skills of many children. Introductions, polite and appropriate conversation, eye contact and social graces were at one time taught in the school system. Now, The Refined School of Protocol and Etiquette® can reinforce those skills in addition to providing electronic etiquette training for your teen.
Lifestyle Skills - All things being equal, what will separate your child from the rest? Confidence. Confidence is knowing how to handle yourself in a variety of situations and adjusting your behavior accordingly. It is the art of making people feel respected and comfortable around you. Grooming, apparel, and nonverbal signals all impact the way you present yourself to the world. Our sessions give teens the tools to make a great first impression and lasting impression.
The following classes are available to your school, camp, association or club. Sessions can be tailored to meet the needs of your students. Please contact us to schedule your group.
